Sri Lanka Technology Campus Sri Lanka (SLTC)

Introduction

As part of the ENACT project’s mission to enhance governance, management, and reforms in Sri Lankan universities, the Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) is proud to announce the establishment of the Non-Academic Staff Development Center (NASDC) within its premises. This initiative reflects SLTC’s commitment to capacity building and fostering a high-performance work culture across the institution.

The NASDC will serve as a centralized entity for the strategic development of non-academic staff, providing resources and training programs to enhance their competencies, operational efficiency, and career progression. Rooted in the institution’s broader HR policies, the center aims to empower non-academic staff and align their professional growth with SLTC’s organizational goals.

Objectives and Key Functions

The NASDC is designed to deliver comprehensive training solutions, mentoring opportunities, and performance-based development frameworks. Its primary responsibilities include:

  • Annual Training Curriculum: Collaborating with the HR and Finance Departments to design and budget an annual training curriculum.
  • Strategic Oversight: Ensuring Council and Vice-Chancellor approval for all strategic initiatives through the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Implementation and Coordination: Leading the execution of staff development activities in alignment with the ENACT mandate.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitoring and evaluating the quality and impact of programs through feedback mechanisms and performance assessments.
  • Collaboration: Engaging internal and external resource persons to deliver tailored, impactful training sessions.

Governance and Collaboration

The NASDC will be governed by a Non-Academic Staff Development Committee comprising key stakeholders, including representatives from HR and administrative units. This committee will oversee the strategic direction of the center and ensure its alignment with institutional objectives.

Infrastructure and Resources

Housed in the SLTC Satellite Building, the NASDC is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support its operations. The center will serve as a hub for resource sharing, training coordination, and policy implementation, ensuring an integrated approach to staff development.

Achieving ENACT’s Vision

The establishment of NASDC is a significant milestone for SLTC under the ENACT project, fulfilling a critical requirement of the initiative. By institutionalizing non-academic staff development, the center aims to foster best practices, improve job satisfaction, and create a sustainable framework for professional growth within Sri Lanka’s higher education sector.
