Non-academic Staff Development Cell – University of Moratuwa

To support the successful completion of key deliverables for the ENACT project, the Non-academic Staff Development Cell (NASDC) has been established as a sub structure of the Staff Development Centre of the University of Moratuwa. The Council of the University, at its 500th meeting held on 07.09.2022 approved the establishment of the cell together with its scope, objectives, and actions.

Organization Structure

Objective

The key objective of the cell is to create a sustainable structure dedicated to the design, delivery, and assessment of training for non-academic staff of the University and to harmonize the University’s non-academic staff development strategy with the overall strategy and vision for growth, excellence, and performance.

Tasks & activities

The main task of the cell is creating and supporting learning opportunities that reflect, pursue and strengthen the implementation of the University’s broader developmentstrategy and achieving the University’s goals in the academic domain. The activities of the cell include;

Organizing training programs for non-academic staff
Supporting, mentoring, and coaching among the non-academic staff members
Facilitating the recruitment and retention of highly qualified non-academic specialists
Promoting a campus culture of equality and diversity

Cell Management Committee

All activities of the cell are planned and conducted through a Cell Management Committee composed of the team members of the ENACT project of the University of Moratuwa.
The Committee is chaired by the Project Coordinator and all other team members of ENACT are serving as members. The Committee meets on a regular basis to plan and implement the activities of the cell.
