Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) is 24 years old one of the leading state higher education institutes in Sri Lanka. The University comprises six faculties; Agriculture, Medicine & Allied Sciences, Social Sciences & Humanities, Management Studies, Applied Sciences and Technology. The RUSL is one of the leading public higher education institute situated in the Mihintale, close to the ancient city of Anuradhapura in north-central province, Sri Lanka.
Total students enrolments for the University are 6,000, the academic and non-academic staff strength are around 270 and 433 respectively and 31 executive staff. The RUSL offered 22 bachelors, 4 masters and 2 PhD degrees under 06 faculties.

University entrance for the student is based on their academic performances in the examination of General Certificate of Advanced Level. Being one of the best free education providers in the country, there is high competition among students to gain university entrance. From its inception in 1996 university staff, both academic and administrative contributed to promoting its standard at today’s level.

The university ranked 8th in the web metrics 2019 in Sri Lanka. Rajarata University of Sri Lanka received “B” grade value at the university reviewers programme conducted by the University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka in 2018.

The university annually produces 1900 bachelor graduates, 200 master graduates and up to now 12,000 bachelor’s level and 1800 master’s level graduates produced. University is being carried out 20 international and nationally important research grants and undertaken several nationally important contact research by the academia of the university. A large number of research papers has been published by the academia of the university annually in the refried and other nationally and internationally renounced publications.
